What happens when machines no longer just assist labor, but consume it—time, body, and will?Remaining Timeimagines a strange, insect-like device labeled “MADE IN INDIA,” yet nothing about it feels free. Inscriptions like “PRESENCE REQUIRED FOR WEEKEND SALARY” and “THIS IS NOT A BRITISH COMPANY” reveal a haunting contradiction: is this truly postcolonial, or just power wearing a new mask?

Two figures—one limp, one enduring—hover on either side of a mechanical core that never stops demanding. And at the center, a bowl of bodies: consumed, collected, contained.

Is this a commentary on capitalist obedience? A satire of surveillance culture? Or an echo of colonial discipline repackaged in bureaucratic form?

Rooted in Bengali language and rendered in stark woodcut, Remaining Time asks: Are we free, or just free to comply?
And more urgently—who controls the clock, and at what cost?
